Javier Pau Gamarra, General Manager of Tolsa, presents our work and commitment to development and sustainability.
I am proud to present Tolsa’s third Sustainability Report , a document that has emerged out of our commitment to transparency with all our stakeholders.
Through our Sustainability Report, we intend to share the principles that inspire us on a daily basis, and reveal the work we carry out each year, in an effort to help build a more sustainable future for all.
At Tolsa, we are committed to promoting the United Nations 2030 Agenda and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals , and this document is the result of our efforts to make this possible.
This vision involves looking far beyond our financial and business results. It involves integrating environmental, social and governance criteria into our ladder for success. It also entails an increased awareness of all the risks and threats that could be detrimental to our activity, often the result of the growing uncertainty that surrounds us.
As with the appearance of COVID in our lives, the complicated geopolitical context of 2022 has once again put us to the test.
But this, initially adverse, context has inspired us to review our strategy and priorities for investment, and has given us the chance to face big challenges with determination, turning our risks into a great opportunity.
As a result, in 2022, we worked hard to improve energy efficiency and we put a great deal of effort into reducing fossil fuel consumption. We actually managed to cut our direct carbon emissions by 64% compared to 2019.
This is just a small example of how Tolsa is bringing our sustainability strategy to fruition with specific, measurable and long-lasting projects.
I hope that reading this document inspires you as it demonstrates how sustainability must become the roadmap that guides us on our way to continue growing with assurance and responsibility.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders who support and put their trust in our company, enabling Tolsa to continue breaking new paths, as it set out to do in 1957, and to keep its goal alive: To have a positive impact in society by making better use of 21st Century resources.
Conscious Practices | Our pillars of sustainable growth
Throughout our 65 years in operation, Tolsa has understood the importance of integrating sustainability into our strategy for growth and linking that to our goal to “Make a positive impact in society by making better use of 21st Century resources”.
These are the five pillars that support our project for sustainable growth, which we use to define our strategy to have a positive impact in society that is long-lasting and significant:
People for today and tomorrow · Responsibility in corporate governance · Care for the planet · Global engagement · Solutions for progress
