Fighting COVID-19 together
TOLSA, has had to face, as the rest of companies and sectors of society, the emergence of the COVID-19 virus.
Well before governments started to manage the crisis and launch recommendations, we witnessed infection cases at our headquarters that forced us to activate emergency measures.
This early onset meant facing a new and unprecedented crisis. At first, therewas a mix of feelings of uncertainty and health concerns were mixed, together with a constant flow of contradictory information and new local regulations in an unprecedented crisis.
Despite the initial confusion, we have been able to make decisions from the outset that have allowed us to make Tolsa facilities a safe space for employees, something that would not have been possible without their cooperation and spirit of solidarity and effort.
Today, we can proudly affirm that our centers are places with little incidence of the virus, but we cannot forget that many colleagues have suffered, and continue to suffer, the terrible consequences of the virus, and we must support them and remain on permanent alert.
TOLSA, in its mission to ensure the health of employees, and the continuity of our business, established a set of initial action protocols that are now ahead of the constant legislative actions in the matter.
Thus, telecommuting settled in our culture, while providing full assistance to all our employees, leaving no one behind. Other measures have been implemented to provide all the necessary guarantees for on-site work, such as the separation of work spaces and installation of screens, as well as alternate-day attendance.
“Telecommuting settled in our culture”
Our factory staff has staggered their start times, fully based on our production needs. Where possible, emergency teams were established to allow continuity of production during the most critical moments of the pandemic, and hygienic measures were reinforced in common areas.
All our centers have provided a consistent delivery of masks and reusable masks with our logo, the manufacturing of our own gels at our central laboratories, the separation of spaces and reduction of capacity, among others. They represent collective attitudes and measures that have proven to be the best ally to control the pandemic at our facilities.
We have also learned to manage our business by reducing non-essential travel and visits, thus advancing in the process of digitalization of communications.
Each branch, each country, has adapted to the circumstances of their environment and the virulence of the disease, and the close cooperation between all of its members has allowed to share and adopt best practices in an exercise in permanent learning and quests for synergies.
Awareness campaigns have helped change the way we work and pushed us to adopt new habits, such as wearing masks, reinforcing hand hygiene and social distancing, which are now part of our daily lives. And yet, after more than 10 months, we continue to work on improvement and adaptation measures, such as the information campaign for managing contacts with positive Covid cases, rapid case detection, and constant communication and collaboration with employees to remain safe and protect our families and our business.
